Marie-Luise Griess

Born in Wesseling near Cologne in 1949, her professional career spans over
twenty-seven years. During an extensive period of her career she has been given the opportunity to integrate her creativity into the corporate world, including working in the Communications Department of a multi-national company. Since 1999 she has been dividing her time between living in Amsterdam, Wesseling/Cologne and the Eifel region.

She discovered her passion as an artist in her youth. Experimenting first with watercolour and oil painting and during the past few years has devoted her time to acrylic painting enabling her to express this type of painting in terms of shape and colour composition. At present she has the tendency to paint informally.

The element of coincidence is very important to her, as she feels that the formation process of a painting can rarely be controlled or even be explained rationally. Thus the observer is allowed the opportunity to use his own imagination and to explore himself within the paintings. Through intensive studies with artists - from varying nationalities - she is continuously to perfecting her professional skills.

Numerous exhibitions - for example in the VIP area of Sony Europa and at the CeBIT in Hanover - are a continuous source of motivation.
